Question

When I export to screens as PDF, all the layers are stripped out.

Is it suposed to do this? If so why?

They are all set to print and all are visible.

Hello @garethirwin1234,

Thanks for reaching out. I hope the suggestions shared by Monika helped resolve the problem. If not, kindly check if setting the PDF Preset to Illustrator default under Format settings helps resolve the issue.

Also, would it be possible to share the file you are having trouble with so we can check it on our end?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Which settings are in the PDF options? Do you save with "Illustrator editing capabilities"? Because if not then this is as expected.

The problem with that is the files are then huge because I have 14 artboards in the document. Furthermore if I save them individually one at a time, then I don't need editing capabailities checked, this just seems like something Adobe could fix.

Can you please show us screenshots of your layers before and after exporting and then tell us exactly how you are exporting them and what you are expecting?
