Illustrator not letting me move any objects in any file

Hi All

This has happened to me before I cant remember how I resolved it. Every time I try to move an object /vector anything, it just pings at me, the noise that means 'no can do.' I just dont know why. Ive tried closing it all down, and re starting, and tried opening different files.

Any ideas any one can help?

Ok to anyone this happens to, I had to restart my computer and then it went away.

What normally causes this kind of response from the app is there is an open modal dialog box off screen somewhere which needs to be dismissed. Usually a result of multiple monitors having been in use and you are now using only one. Next time it happens try hitting the Escape key and see if it clears up.
