Illustrator says I need to update or uninstall vectoredge.aip

After the most recent update, illustrator has been crashing A LOT! It finallt came up  and said that it was going to be running in "safe mode" until I ither updated or uninstalled the vectoredge.aip plugin. I am not even sure what the plug in does, so I really don't want to uninstall it if it is needed, but I also can't find any information about updating it. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. TIA
