Illustrator Slows Down And Becomes Unusable When Overprint Preview Enabled

Hi, whenever Overprint Preview is toggled on the program basically grinds to a halt. I can't move things and it takes forever to render until the feature is toggled off again. Any thoughts?

i definitely see slowdown with overprint preview on, but it's only comparable to illustrator not using GPU acceleration (which i think is what's happening), not becoming unusable. what system/version are you using?

Illustrator version 21.0.2

The system is a high-end Lenovo, this sort of thing should really be child's play for it.
