Question

Illustrator - "Some of the linked objects in this document have been updated"

I have an issue when opening Illustrator files that contain linked images or PNGs. I get a message that says "Some of the linked objects in this document have been updated." Even if I replace the image or update the link, it still doesn't appear. However, it does appear when I export the file. I have already restarted Illustrator, my computer, and updated Illustrator, but I still have the same problem.

Hi @HH37,

Thank you for reaching out, and sorry for the trouble opening Illustrator file. Would you mind telling us if this is happening with all files or with this specific file?
Have you tried the same workflow on a new file?

We will try our best to help.

Thanks,

Harshika

Hello @Carmen3726244484rs,

We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. Would you mind sharing some more details, like the exact version of the OS/Illustrator, a public link to a sample file after uploading it to Dropbox/Google Drive/etc., and a screen recording of the problem (https://adobe.ly/3Vnnot9), so we can investigate this further?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Hello @Peyton_McDonald3864,

Could you please share more details, like the OS/Illustrator version, whether this happens with all files or files from a specific folder location, and a small screen recording of the problem, so I can check it on my end?

Looking forward to hearing from you.
