Illustrator Speed... AGAIN!... sorry

I'm working on a very simple file - 1.5Mb, with a few black shapes on a white artbaord... As simple as it comes. Though, trying to move objects, align and create is simply painful. HOWEVER, I go into outline mode and it's as quick as a quick thing, doesn't hold me up at all. But I would obviosly like to work being able to see exactly what I'm doing. 

Any suggestions what could be the problem. I've even uninstalled all shapes and brushes and everything to try and have an illustrator that is functional... It's truely a joke! Thanks

Sorry to hear about this experience. I would request you try resetting Illustrator's preferences by following the steps shared in this article (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/troubleshoot-preference-issues.html) and sharing your observations.
Disclaimer: Please note that resetting preferences will remove all custom settings, and Illustrator will launch with the defaults. You may take a backup of these settings from the location mentioned in the article. 
 

If the issue persists, kindly share some additional info about your computer, where the file is stored, and if Illustrator behaves this way with other files as well.
