Question

Illustrator- text turns into separate objects when copied.

Hello,

I updated my Illustrator to 2018 CC and since then I have the following problem:

When copying text objects between two open files, sometimes the text turns into non-text object - each letter becomes an independent object,

and I can't use text tools such as font change on that text.

Both files are EPS. The problem happens with all fonts I checked (Arial regular...).

When I copy the text within one file, it doesn't happen and the object remains text.

Is the explanation clear?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Best,

Nimrod

Which system is this?

Do you perhaps have an extension installed that "enhances" the clipboard?

I'm using Win 10.

I don't have any such extension that I'm aware of.

I'll mention that in the older version of illustrator it never happened. In addition, when copying inside the same file there is no problem.
