Illustrator v25.4.1 crashes on macOS Big Sur v11.4 while duplicating an object using Alt + drag

And yet another frustrating morning trying to work using Adobe products. Illustrator to be specific.
Adobe would do themselves a favor promoting Illustrator 8 as their flagship product again IMO.

Problem:
Using the select tool and alt+drag wanting to  duplicate an object makes me drag only the anchor point of an object (independent of the selection tool of choice) and crashes illustrator right after.

Adobe Illustrator 25.4.1
Mac OS Big Sur 11.4

MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2019)

2,4 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9

32 GB 2400 MHz DDR4
Radeon Pro Vega 20 4 GB
Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

Hi there,

Sorry about the crashing. I know thats' really frustrating. We are unable to replicate this issue at our end. Could you please share a few more details like:

  • Does the crashing happen while working on a specific document? If yes, could you please share the document with us? You can upload it to the Creative Cloud (https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/help/share.html) and share the download link.
  • What are you trying to duplicate (text box, shape, a vector, etc.)?
  • Where are you saving the files (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System/ External HDD)?
  • When did this start happening? Are there any recent changes made to your system? For example, any antivirus, system updates, or web extensions installed recently.

Also, you may try the steps shared in the post (https://community.adobe.com/t5/illustrator/resolve-slow-performance-and-unexpected-behaviors-in-illustrator/td-p/11561981) and share your observation with us.

We will be looking forward to your response.

Thanks & Regards,
