Question

Illustrator v28.4 | Allow users to disable AI

Hello,

I noticed that when working on Illustrator lately, AI or some other weird tool seems to do odd things to my work, like automatically changing fonts or moving items around. As a graphic designer that's definitely something I don't need! I want to be able to move things freely and use whatever fonts I want, there are surely other designers out there who think the same.

Is there a way to completely disable AI from Illustrator? Or even from all Adobe softwares?

The current implementations of AI are limited to suggesting a crop for your images, suggesting point positions for freeform gradients and puppet warp. But you can turn those off in the Preferences (Enable Content Aware Defaults).

There are beta options to generate or recolor artwork, but there are no AI options that automatically change fonts or move objects around. That sounds more like a bug.

Can you give examples of that behaviour?
