Illustrator v29.2.1 glitchy zoom and scroll with mouse wheel

Question

I've seen this posted as an issue before, and it is still happenign for me using the latest v29.2.1 version.

Zoom scroll on my mouse wheel jumps from 4.17% to 3200% which makes it unusable.
I have tried enabling/disabling 'Zoom with Mouse Wheel' with no affect

The only thing that had any effect was disabling 'GPU Performance' the zoom distances improved but it was a clunky zoom.
