Illustrator Ver. 23 Eats Up Memory
So, at my job, I am working off of an old 2014 HP Envy 700-414 PC Series Computer w/ 12 GB of RAM and a quad 3.2 ghz processor. Before I updated to the latest Illustrator (2019), my programs ran just fine. Then, I updated to 2019 Illustrator and all of a sudden my computer keeps crashing with the error code MEMORY_MANGEMENT. Never did this before. Waited until the latest update version and updated. Still the same issue. Decided to run my Task Manager (after doing a clean up and maintenance check on my computer) and found the newer Illustrator using about 1gb of memory on files smaller than 30mb!! Kept thinking it was my computer but decided to uninstall the 2019 Illustrator and reinstalled the 2018 Illustrator. Checked my Task Manager and now my program is using about 300mb - 400mb of memory for the files vs. the horrendous 1gb of memory. Let me point out that I mostly work in 72 DPI - 150 DPI. Sometimes the occasional 300 DPI, but not too often.
This leads me to my questions: does the newer Illustrator have some new setting that can cause it to eat up more memory than its previous versions? Is anyone else having similar issues? Besides allocating my virtual memory (as well as maxing out the RAM on my computer) are there other things within Illustrator that I can do to minimize how much memory I use?
I also want to point out that all my files are saved onto an external HD and that my actual computer has no space really taken up except by the programs I am using.
