Illustrator (Win 10) doesn't remember window size or position

I'm running Illustrator 27.4.1 on a Windows 10 laptop using a secondary 4K monitor. Whenever I open Illustrator, the default window size maxes out to approximately 3x the resolution of my 4K screen. This forces me to have to re-size the main window (and supporting windows, like "Export as..." to make my workspace manageable. I have trashed preferences to no avail. Any way to fix this?

Hello @williambsmithjr,

We understand that encountering technical issues can be frustrating. Would you mind trying to change the resolution and scaling to the defaults and changing the Primary Display Monitor under Display Settings, and then relaunching Illustrator to check if it helps?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Anubhav

Scaling the monitor takes away some of the benefits of using a 4K display, so here's another possible solution. Find the Illustrator.exe file (see image).  Right click properties, and select the compatability tab. I had to select Properties twice to actually see the tab.  Select the radio button for "High DPI scaling override," and select "System" from the drop-down.
