Illustrator/Windows performance problem
I've had this problem since about March of 2020. That's when I bought my current PC. It's simple. As long as Illustrator is open, Windows Explorer exhibits performance issues. The cursor flickers. If I use the arrow keys to scroll up/down through folders in Windows Explorer, it jumps around and the cursor is flickering. If I try to drag and drop an item, it may lose the item right in the middle of dragging it. If I grab 2 items and drag them, it may lose one of them along the way. It is really aggravating and I've never found any reason for it. But the second I close Illustrator Windows Explorer becomes perfectly normal. Immediately. Does anybody have any idea what this could be? I wondered if it might be because this PC has an AMD processor which I haven't used in many years. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the PC. The PC shipped with Windows 10. I upgraded to Windows 11 once but the problem did not go away. I went back to Windows 10. I plenty of other software on this PC, Photoshop and other Adobe CC programs, Coreldraw, etc and no other program causes this problem. Any ideas??? Thanks.
