Image is exporting bigger in Illustrator

Hi!

I am trying to export an image which would be used as an email signature from Illustrator but when I export it it becomes much bigger than the size I edited it. If I would like to downsize the image, it becomes really blurry, but that it the real size I want to use it in. I attach an image exported from Illustrator and then the one which I resized. The artboard in Illustrator is set to the right size, but it still becomes much bigger when exporting. Can somebody help me please, I tried everything! Thank you!

E-Mail signature as an image is a really bad idea. No one can click on the link and depending on how you incorporate the signatur, they might not even see it, because the amail app doesn't download images.

Having said that: of course it's bad image quality. It's too small. You have to design it differently so that it works. Turn on pixel preview in Illustrator and design it in a way that it works.

What format are you exporting it as? If you save the file as an .ai or .pdf then it should maintain its size. Exporting as a jpeg or png would rasterize the whole thing and will cause pixelization of even the type when the size is changed. Since there is a raster image within your art, even if saving as an .ai or .pdf, you should make sure that its resolution is high enough for any possible enlargement. Using an image that is 300 ppi at 100% size should assure a good display at that size but if you'll need it larger you'll need an image whose resolution is proportionally larger.

Thanks for the reply! I would like to use it as a PNG file. The main thing that I don't understand is how is that possible exporting a file (in PNG, 300 dpi) to be 1355 px x 678 px when the Artboard itself is 325 px x 169 px? I need the image in a smaller size and if I resize the bigger image it becomes blurry.

If you want the exported image in the same dimensions as the artboard, set resolution to 72 ppi.
