Hi @HazleBilly,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with slow saving after updating to Illustrator version 27.8.1. I'm glad to hear that you liked the inclusion of the old classic menu for Image Trace options.

To better understand and address this issue, it would be helpful if you could provide more information about your system and the specific circumstances under which the slow saving occurs.

  • Please confirm where you are saving the files (Network Drive/ System HDD/ Shared Folder on System /External HDD).
  • Please provide information about your computer's specifications, including CPU, RAM, and GPU.
  • If possible, share a sample image that you used for the image trace
  • A screenshot of the Image Trace settings you used would be valuable in diagnosing any potential problems with the settings themselves.
  • If there are specific steps that consistently lead to the slow saving issue, please provide a detailed description of the workflow you're following.
  • Have you noticed if this issue occurs with all types of images or only specific ones? Are there any other background processes or applications running that might be affecting Illustrator's performance?'

By providing these details, you'll be helping us pinpoint the issue and work towards a solution. Thank you for your cooperation, and I hope we can help resolve this issue for you.

Best,

Anshul Saini

You could try if resetting the preferences helps. Rename the preferences folder, because that can be made undone.
