Question

Images not immediately available for placement...

Not sure if it is a Mac OS issue or Adobe issue, but when I create some new image (could be jpg, psd, ai, or any file type) and then try to "Place" it into Illustrator, the image is greyed out in the import dialog. Weirdly, If I cancel, and just do Place again, then all the sudden, the image is available.

Please don't respond with questions about what version of Mac OS or Adobe Illustrator I'm using, or other settings and the like. I'm just looking for an answer, not an interview.

sounds like a graphics issue, could you double check the graphics / system updates to make sure you are up to date?
what version of illustrator?

what version of the os and system?

Illustrator is open almost 24/7 and just about the same for Bridge and Photoshop
