Question

Import files keeping them as "LINK"

Basically I would need this:

A) I have an Illustrator *.ai file (containing 1 or more artboards, <let's assume 10 artboards> ).

I wish I could "IMPORT" these 10 artboards into an illustrator file, placed in as many artboards, but keep the file linked. As happens with PDF files, where illustrator imports the pages for you and lets you choose whether you want to keep the link or open it for editing in AI.
it is feasible?

Situation B
B) Same thing as request A), only I would like to be able to select multiple different *.ai files and import them as a link into as many artboards as selected files. In this case selecting multiple source files ai, eps, svg... while maintaining the link might be fine.

I hope it's doable. for now the only solution is to have a PDF.

When saving the AI file with "PDF compatible" checked, you basically create a PDF inside an AI file. When placing this AI file in another AI file, you can keep all of the pages linked. Of course you cannot edit the contents of the pages inside the new AI file, only in the original AI file.

InDesign might be a good choice.

NO!
I need a solution directly inside illustrator.

What you propose is to set it inside Indesign (but I'm not sure if it can import some scripts, all the tables automatically inside the indesign pages, then export a PDF and then import the Linked PDF into AI)
I already knew this solution but for my purpose it is long and useless.
