Question

Imported file is displayed incorrectly

Hi Adobe Community,

The file I import to Illustrator is always displayed incorrectly after closing the programme. I attach a photo of the problem.

The latest update is installed, but it was like this before.
No matter whether the file is png, pdf, ai or jpg.

Does anyone know this and how I can solve it?

Hello @S+G-Denice,

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. It can indeed be frustrating when imported files are displayed incorrectly in Illustrator.

Since you've already mentioned that this problem occurs regardless of the file type (PNG, PDF, Ai, or JPG), it's essential to investigate further to pinpoint the root cause.

To assist you better, would you be able to share the problematic file with us? This would help in diagnosing the problem more accurately and finding a suitable solution. Also, please confirm the OS & Illustrator version.

Your cooperation is much appreciated, and we're here to assist you further once we have more information about the file in question.

Best regards,

Anshul Saini

Hi @Anshul_Saini,

Thanks a lot for your answer!

Of course I can share you the files in the link below:

https://shared-assets.adobe.com/link/a242d05b-45b0-4149-6e95-041a7e371e60

Ilustrator Version is 27.9

OS Version is Ventura 13.4.1 (c)

Hope, this helps so far to get a better insight of what the problem is here.

I have the problem with any file where I use the problematic one, so I didn't put one Ai in the folder.

Thank you for helping out!

Best regards,
Denise

Thank you for sharing the files and providing additional information about your Illustrator version and operating system, @S+G-Denice. I appreciate your cooperation in helping us diagnose this issue.

After reviewing the files you shared, I was able to replicate the same problem you're experiencing. However, I have some good news – I found a solution that should resolve the display issue.

I created a new Illustrator document and then copied and pasted the content from the problematic file into the new document. After doing this, the imported content was displayed correctly without any issues.

Regarding the origin of the problematic file, I couldn't find any specific information about how it was created or in which version of Illustrator. If you have any insights into its origin or if it was created in another application before importing it into Illustrator, that information would be valuable for further investigation.

I will be sure to pass on this issue to our product team for further examination, especially if you can provide more details about the file's origin. In the meantime, if you encounter similar problems with other files, you can try the copy-paste method I mentioned to see if it resolves the display issues.

Thank you for your patience, and please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any more questions or encounter any other issues.

Best regards,

Anshul Saini
