Imported font not available in Illustrator

Using macbookpro OS12.5 with AI 27.0 (through creative cloud)

I recently added some Japanese fonts so they would be available to AI. Some appear in the AI font list and others don't. I wonder why?

If I go to Creative Cloud > Manage Fonts, the fonts in question appear and the blue toggle switch shows that they are activated (see attached). AB Kouran Gyosho appears in the AI font list but the 2 above it (Kaisotai & PopRomCute) do not appear in the list. How can I get AI to make them available?

Hello Ton;

As you suggested, checking "Show font names in English" in Preferences did the trick. It's strange because, unlike other Japanese fonts that have names written in Japanese, these fonts have names written in Roman letters (Kaisotai & PopRomCute).

There were two other items in AI Preferences I thought might affect things ("Show East Asian options" and "Enable Japanese font preview in 'Find More'") but neither of those changed the outcome. Only "Show font names in English".

Thank you

Can you try and scroll the font menu all the way to the bottom? The order of fonts can be mysterious at times.

Also: try and log out of your account and then in again.

There also is a community for the Fonts: https://community.adobe.com/t5/adobe-fonts/ct-p/ct-fonts?page=1&sort=latest_replies&filter=all&lang=all&tabid=discussions They might have additional advice.

Do they show up if you change the Preferences for Type to show fontnames in English?
