Importing a Word doc into illustrator help

Hello,

I opened a word doc in illustrator, it is an essay, i copied and paste the text inside in a layer.  All is fine with that, BUT I wanted the text to be as a square, with text to left.  The issue is the very last sentence of each paragraph.  The last sentence goes from left to right with extra spaces.

For example, if this were the last sentence in Illustror --

I          C      A     N    '     T          F     I      X           T    H    I    S                     I    S    S    U    E   .

I can't seem to fix the issue. It only happens on the last sentence of each paragraph.

I tried -

Windows

Type

Paragraph

and the Align to Left

but won't fix.

What should i do?

Thanks in advance for help.

Rafael,

I would pass the text through a simple word processor like Notepad (Win).

Word has always been notorious for leaving unwanted coding in tetx (once it was sometimes called Worst among users; I have never had it).

Looks like Justify All Lines is enabled in your paragraph style. Try changing that.

I tried that, nothing.  I selected "with last line aligned left"

it did correct the last line of the last paragraph, but not the paragraphs before.

Are the paragraphs continuous text? Can you shift-select the other paragraphs and apply the style with the correct justification?
