Importing Pattern Brushes?

I’m having a problem with finding my pattern brushes when I save them so I can’t import them into another file. The sequence of folders displayed when I save them is pictured. They go into a folder called “Brushes” in the location displayed.

However, this sequence of folders does not exist when importing from the brushes window using the “brush libraries menu” In the “Adobe” folder, the fifth in the sequence, there is no folder called “Adobe Illustrator 29” There is a raft of other differences as well. Library and Users is in the “garethwilliams” folder! Does anybody know what I’m doing wrong?

Many thanks,
Gareth

@Gareth_Williams It can be grayed out, but it must be there. Like in here: “Benutzerdefiniert”

Ok, in the version I’m using I can not see the ”Custom” submenu in the brushes libraries menu in the brushes panel. Thanks again.

You may also want to save them in a location you want.

Brushes libraries are just Illustrator files loaded in the Brushes panel > Other Library…

Any Illustrator file that contains your brushes can be loaded that way.

I think I see what you mean Tom. I could just save them anywhere so I can find them. I'd have to save them again but should be no problem.

@Gareth_Williams Yes as long as you know where you saved the .ai file that contains your brushes, swatches, patterns, symbols, you can open it from the panel menu.

They should appear in the ”Custom” submenu in the brushes libraries menu in the brushes panel. But that will only be happening in the same version of Illustrator.

Thanks Monica, in the same version of Illustrator as what? I only use one version. 🤯

There are folders for several versions in your screenshot. That’s why I mentioned it.
