Improve rendering performance in preview view

When the number of paths is extremely high, the view preview and operations become very slow and errors occur. Could you add a feature to improve rendering speed by reducing the preview quality? I really need this feature. Thank you

That seems like a typical feature request that is best posted here where the Illustrator engineers are looking:

Hi @KI2987904179ff,

Thanks so much for sharing your feedback. I completely understand how important smooth performance is, especially when you're working with highly complex vector artwork.

What you've described makes a lot of sense, and the ability to reduce preview quality for better responsiveness in heavy files would definitely be a helpful addition. I've shared your note with the team, but I'd also recommend posting it as a feature request on UserVoice, so it's tracked and prioritized properly. You'll also receive updates if the status changes.

In the meantime, just to help ease the lag a bit, could you confirm if you're currently working in GPU preview mode? You might also want to try hiding high-detail layers temporarily while navigating or editing. Not a full fix, but it could help reduce the slowdown slightly.

Let me know if this behavior is specific to certain files or if it's something you see consistently. If you're open to sharing a sample file where the lag is most noticeable, I'd be happy to pass it along to the team for a closer look.

Looking forward to your update.

Abhishek
