In Illustrator, the Bullets & Numbering panel does not show an “Add” option to insert a custom bullet (like a checkmark ✓). How can I add a custom bullet character in the latest version?

I am using Adobe Illustrator (latest version). In the Bullets & Numbering dialog box, I do not see an “Add” button to insert a custom bullet character. I want to use a checkmark (✓) as a bullet. How can I do this?

I have attached a screenshot of the CorelDRAW bullet numbering style for reference.

You cannot add your own bullet unless you do some trickery with custom fonts and inserting special characters before your actual list item.

If you want to have a list that has this, I wouldn’t use the list feature at all, but just a custom font and tab stops.

    Or InDesign.
