In Ilustrator CC 2018 - objects make a significant shift/jump upon clicking

Let me start by saying this is not related to "align to pixel grid." The issue I'm having is a significant move, in the screenshot I'm attaching you're looking at a jump of nearly 8in. I can usually fix the problem with a restart, however, I'm more interested in the why and how I can make this stop happening. It usually occurs after I've put my computer to sleep while the software is open. Any advice would be appreciated.
