Intersecting outlines

Question

Hello! I have not used an illustrator for three years and I am having a problem with the pathfinder. I have these strokes:

As I remember, when I used the command pathfinder/divide, all the paths where grouped into one, creating points of intersection between all the strokes. The problem is that this is the result I am getting when dividing:

As you can see, it is eliminating parts of the stroke. How can I manage to create points of intersection in a single stroke without deleting parts of the stroke?

Miguel,There are three levels of Pathfinder>Divide (non)usability:1) If all paths were closed, Pathfinder>Divide would give you what you expected.2) If all non closed paths bent back to reach (one of) the closed path(s) as a loop, as the top left and bottom left outside the (closed) circle, you would still have all the outlying (divided parts of the) paths, only without the stroke which could be reapplied.3) Outlying parts of non closed paths just jutting out of the closed path(s) will inevitably be lost.You can use Pathfinder>Divide for case 1), but already for case 2) it is better to do as Megan said.
