Is anyone dealing with their artboards converting to 'guides for artboard' when re-opening file?

All my artboards from the original file are gone, and have converted into 'Guide for Artboard' layers. Why is this happening all of a sudden?

Which version and system is it?

How old is the file?

Can you show us the artboard panel and the layers panel?

I created the Illustrator file yesterday. and the Illustrator version is 26.5.1.

This has never happened before, so I'm not sure how to fix this.

Does the version have to be v 27.0?

The layered 'Guide for Artboard' layers can't even be selected, moved or deleted either...

If you had say 15 artboards, they all get converted, and 1 8.5x11" artboard appears in a random spot.
