Is it possible to save different layers in different Color Modes?

Hello,

I work in the graphics department at a label printing company and my boss is asking if it's possible to save the same artwork in different layers with different color modes. For example. Have one layer wit the artwork in RGB mode and the same artwork in a different layer but in CMYK mode. 

I hope I am asking this question in the right way and thank you for any information.
