Is there a way to turn off the new way AI (Beta) automatically holds onto object with the arrow when they are clicked on? Do I just need to just ditch the beta version to get away from it?

In one of the recent updates to Ai (Beta), I noticed that when I select an object it wants to hold onto the arrow automatically. It gets very frustrating. I tested the issue in the standard Ai and it didn't seem to click and hold onto items like beta. Is there a way to turn this "feature" off in the beta version or do I just need to just ditch the beta version to get away from it?
