Question

Is there a way to turn off the pop up the document is currently getting saved. it will be closed..."

When you save a file and close it before it finishes saving now it has an annoying pop up box that you have to click "OK" to finish closing out of the document.  It used to just finish saving and then close without needing any input.  Why did this change in illustrator 2020?

Not a way to disable it exactly, but you can turn off the feature that causes it. Under Preferences > File Handling and Clipboard, uncheck "Save in Background." Viola.

It does that because Illustrator can now save in the background, so you can just go to another document (without getting the popup) and continue working. But you can't just close the document that is currently being saved. You will see  this kind of warning in Photoshop and InDesign (when exporting) as well.

thanks.  I guess the issue is not the pop up itself, but the fact that it used to auto close when it finished saving, but now it stays up indefinitely until I click ok or enter.  I'm guessing there is no way to turn off that notification?
