Thanks @pixxxelschubser , i have tried adding stroke, but sorry, i don't know how to display that small knockout panel?

and where is the setting for stroke transparency?

Thanks.

First of all - group the elements. Then select the group and set the checkmark in the advanced settings of the transparency panel or in the settings of the opacity of the group in the apperance panel.

Personally I would give all the elements a black stroke and set the stroke opacity to 0%

Then group the elements and set a Knockout group.

Opacity e.g. 52% semi-transparent

Opacity 0%

For your information, a knockout group is fully editable, you can control the width of the knockout with the thickness of the outline. You can move all the elements and the knockout will adjust live.

For the finished result, I would then - if necessary - convert the appearance (best to copy first, then you have the live group for later changes).

Are you wanting to...

  • Add a yellow stroke to everything OR
  • Punch a hole in objects that are slightly bigger than the objects above them?

Could you also explain if this project might need to have a transparent background at some point.

Cool. I think @pixxxelschubser has already outlined what you need. Best of luck with the project.
