Question

Is this an error or something else?

I'm unsure how to describe this with words; however, recently, I have experienced visual errors with some objects in Illustrator. I am currently working on a new MacBook, so it may not be the case that it is an error from the MacBook but an issue with Illustrator. (I guess??)

When I import a file with some different objects that are masked, Illustrator somehow shows some 'invisible' shapes that are not visible but yet visible. I have never tried this before in my 5-year working time with Illustrator. And I can't find anything about this on Google. Do you experience the same and know how to remove it? Is there something under settings that I can tick off or not to prevent it from happening again?

This could be an issue with the graphic card.

But also the issue could be with what you are doing with those files. Does that also happen when you move objects around in the original files? If not, then please take a look at this video: https://youtu.be/Tiqm5hdQA5A

Thank you for your reply.

The dark square does not appear in the original file, however as you can see in this video, the screen looks weird on most of the objects.

Do you still think this is because of the graphic card? Or might this be because of an issue with Illustrator? I have never tried this before.

Is that an RGB file?

Can you update the graphic card driver?

Did you perhaps set up your color management differently?

Did you use this exact file before without problems?

Here is another screenshot of the visual issue I experience, when dragging the object over other objects. It's the dark square that bothers me.
