Isolating a shape within a complex path

Hello all, I have an image that I'd like to place behind a complex path...Right now it's like the attached image, but I'd like the photo to fill in the white space so that it's framed by the circles.

If anyone has any advice, I'd be really grateful! Thanks!

Draw a separate circle above the image, select the circle and the image and make a clipping mask.
