Issue when duplicating artboard

Hello,

Im having an issue when I try to duplicate my artboard in Illustrator CC. When I duplicate it the content disappears on both art boards leaving them blank. But when I hover my mouse over them I can see the shape paths underneath. I made sure the 'move artwork with art board' box was checked and it is still not working. If you could help me solve this it would help a lot! Thanks!
