Issue with center anchor point and object

I have come to believe that you actually only wish to have the large(st) part, and in that case I believe you will be happier if you expand the brush and delete all the outlying smaller parts; you can Direct Select the large one and lock it in the sufficiently expanded Layer, then ClickDrag over the whole area and delete the rest, and mayby check in the Layer, then unlock.

That ought to bring the centre (close) to where you wish to have it.

You can reposition a centre point when you click on the "rotate" tool and "scale" tool. @Jacob Bugge's suggestion of adding another shape and grouping is also a great workaround.

Depending on what you need to accomplish, here are two other options:

1) try is switching the reference point (icon with 9 squares) inside of the "transform" panel.

2) Expand your object (expand appearance). Click on the main object and transform it by itself.

As far as I can see, it is actually at the centre of the Bounding Box of the set of small and large visible parts.

If you wish to have it at the visual centre as you see it, I am afraid you will have to add something, maybe an invisible circle or rectangle centred on the desired spot and extending past all the parts, then Group or something.
