Hi everyone,

I have an issue with some blur I applied, I have the same things we can see when a gradient is not working (You know, the grey/white between the 2 colors)

When I export the file in .pdf I have the same things but when I previewed it with space it looks as I want.

Do you know how could I get this result ?

Thank you.

(This is what I actually have in Ai)

(This is what I see with Preview)

    This is a method you can try;

    1) Create a circle and fill it red and apply a guassian blur. Keep the opacity set to "normal" in the transparency panel.

    2) Make a COPY of the same circle and paste it behind the top red circle, keep it selected and change the opacity to "multiply".

The color of the background is made of C50 M30 Y10 K90.

I know this effect when the gradient go to black from a color if you didn't incorporate this color in your black but this time i don't know.

WHen applying the gaussian blur just to the object then it of course can't blur into the background color. Maybe that throws it off.

Can you enlarge those objects, then blur them and then apply a blurred opacity mask?

So I tried what you said to me and it looks like the result is the same as before.

I guess it is an effect I can't avoid with the blur on Illustrator.

Yes is it in CMYK. I don't understand why the blur doesn't make a gradient from this red to transparency. There is this white halo out of nowhere.

This halo tends to appear where 100 K black and other colors meet. Is that the case with your background?

I think I find a part of the answer. My proof setup was in Coated FOGRA39, when I set it in Adobe RGB, it appears as Preview.

Next question is How could I avoid this effect when it will be printed ?

    Thank you.

Is it a CMYK document? Or RGB? How exactly will it be printed?
