Issue with the Spacebar in Adobe Illustrator
Issue with the Spacebar in Adobe Illustrator
Recently, I've encountered an unexpected problem with Adobe Illustrator: the spacebar has stopped functioning when entering text. This occurred suddenly, without any apparent changes to settings or the system. Strangely, the issue persists across all fonts I attempt to use and doesn't seem to be related to a specific file, as creating new documents doesn't resolve the error.
What I've Already Tried:
- Restarting Illustrator: Closing and reopening the application was my first step, but the problem continued.
- Reinstalling Fonts: I thought it might be a font issue, so I reinstalled all the fonts I was using, but this didn't help.
- Checking the Keyboard: I tested the spacebar in other programs, and it works perfectly, so the hardware isn't the issue.
- Creating New Files: I opened new documents in Illustrator to see if the problem was related to a corrupted file, but the error persists in all new files.
- Reinstalling Illustrator: I completely uninstalled and reinstalled the application, but the problem remains.
- Checking Tracking and Kerning Settings: I verified these settings to ensure nothing was amiss, but everything appears normal.
Conclusion:
I'm at a loss for what else to do to resolve this issue. I've tried various common solutions, but nothing seems to work. The most frustrating part is that this started out of nowhere, without any system or software changes. If anyone has experienced something similar or has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate the help. This problem is significantly affecting my workflow, and any guidance would be very welcome.
