Issues with selection and direct selection tool. See video.

Hello community.

I've recently encountered a bug witht the selection and direct selection tool. When I click on an object to select it, then move my mouse a little, the object follows me for part of the way. There is also a lag when this happens. Both tools have the same issue. I've tried it with existing files and new files. Just to be clear, I'm not clicking and holding down the mouse button. I'm simply clicking on the object, letting go, and as soon as I move my mouse the object moves with me. I was running the latest version but tried installing the last three versions and I'm having the same issue. Anyone know what could be causing this. See attached video.

Thank you for sharing the details and the video. It seems like an unusual behavior, and I appreciate your troubleshooting efforts.

Since you've ruled out the Magnet app and are not using a Wacom tablet, let's try a few more steps to diagnose the issue:

Boot your Mac into Safe Mode (https://adobe.ly/3S5Ssff).
Launch Illustrator in Safe Mode and check if the issue persists. This will help identify if any third-party applications are causing conflicts.
As you mentioned, you're updating to the latest version of Monterey. Ensure that your macOS is up to date.
Test Another User Account: (https://adobe.ly/48YhO5m)
- Create a new user account on your Mac and log in with it.
- Open Illustrator and check if the issue persists in the new user account.

Hi Anshul,

starting in safe mode seems to have fixed the issue, so it's probably one of the third party apps my company installs on the computer. Now to figure out which one it is.

Hello @Benjamin34094661kkpy, did you ever figure this out? This has been happening with me for about 2-3 weeks. Nothing has changed in my setup. I tried different mice, different files. Uninstalling and reimstalling different versions of Illustrator. Nothing works. Driving me insane and I have projects to complete!!!!
