At long last, more than two months late, after the long thaw followed by bare frost for two weeks with rime for just a few hours: the very first show this winter.

Better late and little than never and none.

Ours has gone away again for the moment but a tree got blown down in a gale the other day.

So we got a fine Christmas tree and plenty of logs to burn.

Still no show here, for another fortnight it seems. It should have been here six weeks ago. A very long autumn.

She must have quite some views, Peter (unless the drifts cover the windows after the storm).

At my daughter's yesterday, before the storm:

Ah, I forgot your (present) lack of logs.

Yule forgive us if we're stumped.

    Thank you, Steve and Peter.

Has either of you lit the Yule log?

1800 feet up is quite far away here.

Half an hour till midnight, no more joining in the shop today.

Has either of you lit the Yule log?

Nope. Ours is geothermal and therefore doesn't burn very well :-)

    Still no show.

Maybe two nights with dry frost a week from now, then thaw again, with more Scottish mist. No use for the studs yet.

It's still here since last time. Studs and frozen windscreens in the mornings. Blowing a gale right now.

Must've been some strong westerlies recently for Scottish mists to drift all the way over to Denmark.

    Glad Yule everybody.

Several weeks of rain and wind down here at sea level, cold last night. Up the hill at my daughter's house, 6 miles away and 1800 ft. up, gobs and gobs of snow. So she says. I'll find out tomorrow.

Thanks, Steve, the same to you and everyone else.

Thank you, Jacob. We had a wonderful gathering and a lot of laughs.

A slight show here. Coldish, wettish, greyish. Difficult driving conditions up on the heath yesterday.

    Lucky you, Steve.

Undoubtedly, Peter is luckier still, enjoying the daily show, maybe even showed in.

Maybe midway between its being here and its being here.
