Question

Jagged lines?

Dear community,
I can’t make any progress on my own anymore and need help.
A few days ago, I updated Illustrator to the latest version, and since then I’ve been getting these strange errors in my paths (see attachment). I’m using a drawing tablet (XP-Pen Artist Pro 12) and the latest Illustrator version on Windows.
Since these errors only started appearing after the update, I tried installing older versions - but that didn’t help. Of course, I also reinstalled the graphics tablet driver.
Does anybody have an idea what else I can try?

Does your computer have the latest version of the graphics tablet driver installed?

Yes, I updated the driver yesterday, but nothing changed.

Hello @TALVA,

Thanks for confirming. Could you share the following details after uploading them to a file-sharing service, so we can investigate further with the product team:

- System Report (https://adobe.ly/3Y2aq5z)
- Screen Recording of the behavior in Illustrator v29.0 and v30.0
- Screenshots of the settings of your Wacom Tablet and the version of the driver installed

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello @TALVA,

Thanks for reaching out. Could you try disabling Windows Ink in the tablet settings and then relaunch Illustrator to see if it helps? Also, try manually reinstalling the Wacom drivers again by following the steps shared here (https://adobe.ly/4irrviO) and let us know how it goes.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for your reply.

Windows Ink was disabled, but it didn’t help. I also reinstalled the XP-Pen driver several times, with no results.
I just installed the oldest version of Illustrator (29.0), and so far it looks good. Still, I don’t want to stick to an older version for too long… but I’m glad I found a temporary solution for now.
I’m not sure if this is relevant, but I only draw using the Blob Brush tool. When I draw paths with the regular Pen tool and a mouse, I don’t get those funky lines.
