Question

Just blowing some steam about AI crashing too much

It happens too often recently that AI crashes in the middle of work, usually while doing something very simple like moving a text box around.

And not only that it crashed, there isn't even a recovery file when I open it again.

This is really frustrating and time consuming.

Hello @ori manor,

We understand how frustrating it can be to experience crashes, especially when you're in the middle of work.

Would you mind trying the steps in this help article (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/fix-crash-on-launch-issues.html) and checking if it helps? Also, kindly share the crash report using the steps in this article (https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/crash-next-steps.html) and use the same email account as your community account for quick tracking. We appreciate your time and efforts in resolving this issue.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

What are your computer system specs (CPU, graphics card, amount of RAM, etc)? Do you have any periphreals attached, such as a Wacom tablet? Are the drivers for your graphics card and any attached periphreals up to date? In the case of Wacom tablets two versions of its driver released in January would cause Illustrator to completely crash (the application window would hang and then just vanish). They released updated drivers for Mac OSX in April and Windows on May 15.

Thank you for you answer.

I did check my Wacom driver and updated it to most recent (though having some issued with it, trying to work it out with Wacom company).

Installed RAM 24.0 GB
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch Pen support

Windows Specs:

Edition Windows 10 Pro
Version 22H2
Installed on ‎01/‎12/‎2022
OS build 19045.2965
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19041.1000.0

Thanks you very much!

Did updating the Wacom tablet driver solve the crashing issues?
