Kerning crashes Illustrator

When I try to set the kerning to anything other than the default I get this message.

"kerning on extended selections can only be set to Auto or 0. To modify spacing between multiple characters, use the Tracking option."

Then it always locks up Illustrator and I have to force quit.

It started doing this after that latest update. Please fix this Adobe.

      Which language ? Does that happen with all fonts ?

      Hi Darren,

      Sorry to hear that.

      Please confirm the version of Illustrator CC you are using. This has been reported in previous versions and is fixed in latest release. If you using the latest version of Illustrator(22.1), please open a new document  and check how it works

        Eu sempre tive este mesmo problema. Em todas as versões de illustrator... com arquivos novos ou antigos.

        I always had this same problem. In all versions of illustrator ... with new or old files.
