Question

Keyboard shortcuts missing / changed? (All CC)

This morning I found that using the shift-command keyboard combo (mac) no longer worked to zoom in Illustrator. Then Photoshop. Then InDesign. Been using this combo for a very long time - I don't think I actually ever set it up myself. Seems to be gone now...

No idea what's going on, but figured I'd ask in case anyone knows.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about your experience. Would you mind sharing version of Illustrator & OS?
Also, make sure there is no other app which is conflicting with the keyboard shortcuts. Please take help from help article https://support.apple.com/en-in/guide/mac-help/mchlp2864/mac
You may also try resetting the Adobe Illustrator preferences. Please follow the instructions below to do that:

  • Close all Adobe applications.
  • Go to locations
  • ~/Library/Caches
  • ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe
  • ~/Library/Preferences
  • Rename Adobe Illustrator, com.adobe.illustrator and Adobe Illustrator 24 Settings folders to Adobe Illustrator.old, com.adobe.illustrator.old and Adobe Illustrator 24 Settings.old
  • Launch Illustrator from the Creative Cloud.

**Please note that resetting preferences will remove all the custom settings and Illustrator will launch with default settings. This way all your old settings will be saved in .old folders and Illustrator will recreate new folders with default settings.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Ashutosh
