Lag when selecting objects

Using selection tool, it takes a second or two to select an object when I click on it.

I've saw that others have the same problem and desintalled something to solve this, but I've already check if there is some program installed but found nothing. 

I'm using Illustrar 28.0 on a Macbook Pro M1, RAM 32 gb

    basically I have the same machine and Illustrator doesn't do that.

     

    Is that perhaps a Large Canvas document? Are you using it from a network?

    No and no. It happens too with a 300x300px document and a black square. If, for example, I drag the selection, that lag doesn't happen.

    Hello @3634662,

    Sorry to hear about this experience. Would you mind trying to run Illustrator under a different administrator account (Windows / macOS) and checking if it helps? Also, try updating the OS and Illustrator to the latest version and share your observations.
