It already happened to me twice, I was working on a file, at some point my macbook dies because I forgot to charge it, as i turn on my laptop again it says my laptop had some issue it had to restart.

Illustrator automatically pops up, says it already recover the file(s) that i was working on. But instead it only show a blank file named print.

Luckily, I already saved the files multiple times earlier, but still it is kinda annoying.

I admit my macbook is kind of full on storage but as this happen I already freed some. How do I prevent this to happen again in the future?

Hello @Mutyaz224996433ep3,

If Illustrator is unable to automatically recover your work after launch, chances are the file is lost. I understand this may not be the ideal outcome, and I apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Could you confirm if the file was saved on a network, removable drive, or a cloud-synced folder like Google Drive or Dropbox? Storing files in such locations can sometimes lead to corruption issues. To prevent this from happening in the future, we recommend saving your work locally first and then manually copying it to your desired backup location.

To avoid similar situations in the future, we advise saving multiple copies of your active work locally or saving them as cloud documents.
