Hi! I've been using Adobe products for about a year now, and recently bought a laptop/tablet convertible to be able to work on graphics on the go, but I think illustrator is moving towards a more mobile version of itself? It's difficult to describe, but when I started it would show lines where I started a point, like, lets say the x is an anchor and the X is where my mouse is, it would look like:

   x---------------X

                x

to show me that by placing an anchor there it would line up the two points

This was really helpful as I'm kind of a picky graphics person (also why I do digital drawings instead of real drawing, haha) but for a few months now it's just stopped doing that. is it a feature that I turn on, or is the fact that my laptop can become a tablet confusing it? I described it super poorly, but if you pieced together what I said, hopefully you can help me. Thanks, have a nice day!
