I am using Adobe illustrator and a new mac book pro. However, the lasso tool is not giving me any options - such as polygonal lasso etc, also some of the tools are greyed out when i open the "all tools" section. I cleared my library cache as advised by the ai assistant with adobe - but still its not working. Any help would be be much appreciated? thanks !

Thanks for reaching out. Illustrator has only the regular Lasso tool and does not include Polygonal or Magnetic Lasso options like Photoshop, which is why you are not seeing those variations in the toolbar. You can also check this similar community post for reference: https://adobe.ly/48wEBqF
Regarding the greyed out tools, that usually happens when those tools are already present inside the main toolbar setup. If you hover over them in the All Tools view, you will notice the corresponding tool highlight in your current toolbar. In some cases, they may not be available for certain object types or the active workflow.
