layer alette colors showing as bounding boxes on artboards?

Hello.

I'm currently using Adobe Illustrator version 28.4.1.

When working with artwork on the artboard bounding board the bounding boxes are taking on the color of those in the layers palette.

This is distracting for illustration and design.

I've been using Ai for a long time but don't remember this behavior.

Has anyone experienced this or know a setting to change for the application?

Please see a screenshot below for reference.

Thanks in advance.

This is not new. The bounding boxes always echo the layer colour. If you don't want bounding boxes to show, just Hide them. (View menu)

Thanks! I've worked in it for like 20+ years, but maybe it was just the striking layer color in the pallete that threw me. I went back and looked at some intensive illustrations and noticed the pen and some drawing tools don't present the bounding box with the layer color immediately. I appreciate your time and reviewing this question.

In looking at old tutorials, I see where this is normal behavior. Maybe it was a dark red color that thew me in another piece I was working on.

I'm also using an Apple MacBook Pro with MacOS Ventura Version 13.2. Sorry, there's no edit button in the forum interface for posts or titles.
