Ligatures not working

i'm a new user of illustrator and just discovered otf fonts, but ligatures are not working, any idea? the button is enabled but not functional, also, i'm testing with ra re ri ro ru, wich i know are ligatures present on the font... what should i do?

several - all that. i've downloaded from envato market

to be specific, the. one i'm working with right now is Bronsul but all the
other are also not working
