Light shine on white background

i downloaded this vector file. 516025849

i thought, i could have the yellow shine

on an plain white background.

but that does not work in photoshop.

how can i remove the grey squares?

is it possible at all?

thanks. i thought i can use it on a white background, but seems like i can not.

If there is a use of transparency and blend modes, then it needs a backgrund element and cannot work without one.
