line angle

HI

I am trying to use illustrator to produce some survey plans and want to be able to draw a line to scale with the angle taken from a compass. To do this I need to have zero degrees upwards and the degrees going clockwise. This doesn't seem to be how illustrator works as zero is to the right and the degrees run anticlockwise. Can anyone tell me if tis is possible.

Thanks

Nick

Unfortuantley you will need to add a minus sign to get your degrees to work in the direction you describe on the rotate tool, line tool, transform palette, etc.

Constrain angle only works while you are drawing rectangle sand elipse, not while you enter value in the transform palette.

Maybe if give a brief example of who you plan to construct this, we can think of a hack way to make thi work such as putting a transform effect of 90° on  layer.
